They say the best start-ups are built when a founder is solving their own problem. That’s how LoveTags started. I grew up in a family that is not verbally affectionate, we showed love by digging in and working hard. My dad would give you the shirt off his back, but ask him to respond to a text, and you may wait months!
Saying much beyond “I love you” is uncomfortable for me. What do I love about you? What do I appreciate? Sexy or flirty (oh, blush)? Yikes!
But everyone expresses love differently, and everyone is at a different place in their verbal-expression-journey. So I’ve tried to create different tones to meet people where they are: Understated. Romantic. Curious. Flirt. Comedian. Tap a tag, and it hands you a line written in whichever voice fits you, ready to send as is or tweak until it sounds like you.
I’m going to walk through each one: why I built it, who tends to reach for it, and a few tips for how to use it well. I would love to hear what you think we’re getting right, what else you’d like to see, and where we are totally wrong.
I’m starting with the one I find the simplest: Understated. Stay tuned to learn more!
